Welcome to Curls with Melissa. By booking an appointment, purchasing products, or using this website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Appointments & Bookings
Appointments may be made via our website booking system or approved enquiry form.
New clients are required to book a Signature Curl Session for their first visit. This allows us to properly assess your hair and provide the most appropriate care for your curls.
Returning clients should select the service that best reflects their current curl needs. If you are unsure which service to choose, please contact us prior to booking.
2. Service Pricing
Prices listed on our website are a guide only.
Final pricing may vary depending on factors including hair length, density, condition, and the time required to achieve the desired result.
Any significant adjustments will be discussed with you during your consultation.
3. Deposits
Certain services, including Signature Curl Sessions and bridal or formal styling, may require a deposit to secure your booking.
Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred in accordance with our cancellation policy.
Appointments are not confirmed until the deposit has been received where required.
4. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
We understand that plans may change. However, as a small salon business, appointment times are reserved exclusively for each client.
We require a minimum of 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Cancellations within 48 hours may result in forfeiture of your deposit.
Cancellations within 24 hours or failure to attend may result in a cancellation fee of up to 100% of the service cost.
Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in refusal of future bookings.
5. Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, we will do our best to accommodate you within the remaining appointment time.
However, services may need to be shortened, modified, or rescheduled. Full service fees may still apply.
Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may be considered a missed appointment.
6. New Client Preparation
New clients must follow the preparation guidelines outlined on our website prior to their appointment.
Failure to prepare hair appropriately (including heavy product build-up, oils, or improper detangling) may affect results and may require additional time or service adjustments.
7. Service Suitability
If the service booked is not suitable for your hair condition or goals at the time of the appointment, we reserve the right to modify the service to ensure the best possible result and maintain hair health.
8. Results Disclaimer
Curly hair is naturally unique, and results may vary depending on factors such as:
Hair history
Previous chemical treatments
Home care routine
Environmental conditions
Product usage
While we aim to achieve the best possible results at every appointment, ongoing maintenance and correct home care are essential for long-term curl health.
9. Client Responsibility & Home Care
The long-term results of curly hair services depend significantly on ongoing home care, styling techniques, and product use.
During your appointment we provide personalised guidance on how to care for and style your curls at home. While we aim to achieve the best possible results in the salon, we cannot guarantee how curls will behave once the hair is washed, styled, or maintained outside the salon environment.
For optimal results, clients are encouraged to follow the recommended home care routine and product guidance provided during their appointment.
10. Bridal & Formal Styling
Bridal and formal styling bookings are secured via enquiry and confirmed once a deposit has been received.
Trial appointments are strongly recommended prior to your event date.
Curls with Melissa provides in-salon styling only, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Event dates are not secured until the required deposit has been paid.
11. Children’s Appointments
For children’s curly sessions:
Only the child receiving the service may attend unless otherwise agreed.
A parent or guardian must remain present during the appointment for younger children.
We reserve the right to modify or reschedule appointments if a child becomes distressed or unable to safely complete the service.
12. Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers:
Are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
Are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Must be presented at the time of redemption.
Lost or stolen vouchers cannot be replaced.
13. Retail Products
We stock professional curly hair products selected to support curl health.
Results from retail products may vary depending on hair type and correct usage.
Refunds or exchanges for retail products are handled in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
14. Health & Allergies
Clients must inform us prior to their appointment of any:
Allergies
Scalp conditions
Medical conditions
Sensitivities
While we use professional products and take great care in service delivery, Curls with Melissa is not liable for reactions resulting from undisclosed conditions.
15. Photography & Social Media
With client consent, we may photograph hair results for educational, portfolio, or marketing purposes including use on our website or social media platforms.
No identifying information will be shared without permission.
16. Website Content
All content on this website, including images, text, videos, branding, and educational materials, is the intellectual property of Curls with Melissa and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without written permission.
17. Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse service where behaviour is inappropriate, unsafe, or if requested services may compromise the health of the hair.
